- Big files need Wi-Fi. A Full HD movie can be several gigabytes. iOS may warn you about downloading over cellular — connect to Wi-Fi first.

When something goes wrong on iOS

If the download stalls at 99%, check Settings > Safari > Downloads and switch the location from iCloud Drive to On My iPhone — flaky iCloud syncing is the usual culprit. If Safari refuses to start the download at all, close the tab, open a fresh one, and try again; Safari's download manager occasionally wedges after several large files in a row. And if the saved video will not play in Files, the download was interrupted — delete the partial file and grab it again on Wi-Fi.
